Mini’s with lost sole and fortue cookie hooves

Hello,
We rescue horses, mini’s, ponies, mini donkeys…..we are located in Nebraska and we have now found 3-5 little ones with walls that “bend” over even in warm dry weather. Then the sole collapses, and the hoof folds.

We have had 6 differant “pro’s” out to work on them, and no real improvement. The misformed part of the hoof seems to grow extreemly fast and even with every 2 week work they just keep turning. One was “treated” by a pro who almost made him lose the whole hoof. He took way too much off and we had to work quick to save the foot.

All affected animals have been bred and born in this area, and I’m told “noone” has ever seen this before! We know total repair may be impossible and only one is “sore” or lame. The others run with no missed steps or pain.

We just want to know if anyone else has seen this.?
What causes it?
What we can do for them.

Also one little mare that was not born here, has “slipper” foot? Everything grew out together sole and all, and no one could “cut” through it to trim it back. And 4 tried! Even with soaking for 3 days. This winter most of the sole seems to be breaking lose but her wall is still as hard as a rock.
These issues are extreem and I’m trying to see if we can head it off in some way?

They are fed grass/ alfalfa mix hay. No grain unless nessicary. Auto waterers.
And salt licks.

I’ll answer any other questions.

Thank you in advance.
