what i want from a org..

With all the test talkin and such I asked myself what I want…now days it seems if ur not wanting the same as the leaders of an org well ur SOL.. I asked myself as I was comming up where did I pick up what I felt helped me the most..it was not in a org.. to this day if I was asked to shoe a runner I would be lost…a cutter lost…a can chaser lost ..a slider lost.. a hot arab in a package lost …hell I had Brian P from this site to walk. Me thru my first set of sigafoos on the phone and he helped me with other stuff…Dan H..Jaye P..Brian M..and to many others to list has give me a leg up when needed…in fact if it had not been for this site I’m telling you now I would still be doing trail horses tied to a tree and I bet I’m not alone…I bet many has learned more from this site and the folks who are here than any org the belong to….I have a tooth hurt and I’m sick so for now I’m gonna cut it short in saying …out of a Org all I want is a chance to learn more than to turn a trailer or make a sqq toe shoe..I want a very diverse chance of learning..I wanna be able to see folks that excel in all forms of shoeing not just the who’s who list of the forging community.. I wanna learn all I can to shoe lame horses no matter how subjective it may be..you know I ask why are my dues paying for a shoeing team to practice..I understand they are also gonna help me with my forging but I can find help for that..what I haven’t found is someone to help me look for the details in a radiograph…making tools yea that’s cool but I shoe horses to feed my kids …hadmades are cool as hell but the vet called for a sigafoo or a morss roller…a client called and they have a new horse and needs sliders..well hell I been shown how to make one but never seen one shod or one work..all I want is to be a well rounded farrier and not have to travel all over half of hell and creation to learn it from other farriers..test or no test I just want a org that will help with my everyday and day after day of work and keeping horses going..

hinged shoe part 2

Got to the farm today and the horse in those shoe was walked to the rack..I said oh hell no..tuff act to follow.. long story short my truck went down sat and in the shop so did not have all of what was needed to do the job so opted to reset hinds and shoe the fronts when I get my truck back…..but the set up was done at R and R …the shoe and set up was to help with some issues but also the hinged shoe had nothing to do with what my thought was …but every thing to do with what Rick Talbert pointed out and a spring was in the shoe at first but pulled out due to issues ….I was told to go back to a wedge pad and sorts due to not any better movement or such in horse…but that’s what I was told..

hinged at toe

Had a horse come in a barn today on a layover..often we see horses layover when traveling thru heading show to show..or at school or such so get to see some diff shoeing from diff areas..most come from up and down east coast so rare I get to see from the west area…and get to see some pretty slick stuff……………….today I noticed a horse I had not seen before so when it cleared out I took a peek see….will try get a pic in the morn as my phone was dead … but..was a big 17 hander it looked like maybe some heel issues or needed a high angle…but the heel where build up with a pretty slick glue and maybe cobra sock job and tied into a morrison roller ..the fabric went to ground or over the shoe and def had heels locked in or very limited movement …but I seen the hoof flex and was lookin at toe area and the rollor had been cut to lap over from what each other and a pin at center…had the small road pins in to protect the area and I’m sure to be able to get another setting out of them because it was some work to fab it up from what I could tell…… has anyone seen or done this…
