trimming hackney horse William´s hooves myself

Many people have asked me how I can take care of Williams hooves, because no farrier can get close enough to him to pick up a foot. I have had to do the trimming myself from the beginning, and apart from heavy protests from my own back and undercarriage, it is no real problem.

Cinnamon, Rocky Mountain Mare for Sale in Colorado

See equinenow.com Bob's Cinnamon Lightning DOB: 5/22/2008; 15H Sire: Zeus's Black Lightning — Dam: Sycamore's Midnight Milly Registered RMHA. Cinnamon is a beautiful chestnut mare who has a beautiful conformation and wonderful attitude. She's sweet and loving, and very easy to handle. Excellent for the farrier, and handles vaccinations and worming quietly. She had two months of ground work this spring, and I've had her under saddle since May. She's turning out to be quiet on the trail as well. She stands quietly for mounting, and is getting her gait set on the trail. We've been doing lots of gaiting on the trail, without any other horses, and she's doing great with that! She will walk easily into a pond, and is learning to cross the creek as well. Doing well with her back up and sidepass too! She'll let you open and shut a gate from her back. With her looks and height, she'd be a great addition to your breeding herd, and would be a good base to try to get some red chocolate foals out of her! Up to date on worming, vaccinations and hoof care. WINTER SALE PRICE: $4000 Jennifer's Mountain Horse Farm in Eckert, CO (www.jensrockies.com) 970-640-0000

Lesson’s from the Hoof, Trim Clips 5

This episode focuses on understanding horn tubules and how they affect the hoof. Why you need to map the hoof to find the toe length, and other basic trimming and hoof growth principles. The horse trimmed here is Cookie who was also trimmed in episode 3, and had very stretched forward toes. You will see they've come back some and another interesting issue with her feet has developed. The more you watch the more you learn to read the hoof, to correct problems and and prevent problems.

    Chloee and Sarah Jan 2012

Chloee Barn Name: Chloee Breed: QH or QH x ? Height: 14.2hh Age: 6 y/o Gender: Mare Colour: Bay Health: Excellent Lameness: None – Sound – Sarcoid on front of hind left leg, between the hoof and the ankle. Needs to be removed then treated so that it doesn't grow back. JUNE 22 UPDATE: We had our vet out today to remove the sarcoid. All went well. We bought some very expensive XXTERRA cream to put on it everyday in hopes that the sarcoid will not grow back. We will send this XXTEERA cream with Chloee's new owner. Vices: None Personality: Friendly. Easy to catch, lead, groom, tie, trim, trailer, etc. But very pushy. Needs to remember her manners. She would be a terrific Natural Horsemanship project for someone. Currently turned out with a group of mares (horses ponies and donkeys). History/Training: Western, Was Lead Horse on Trails, Also Ridden English and Will Jump Small Jumps. Needs Further Training in the Ring. Future/Suitability: Quick learner. Anything is possible. HCW UPDATE: Chloee is not a beginner horse, she does need further training in the ring. She is quite happy to ride out with other horses along the roads and trails. She was good on the road alone, but the snow plow spraying her did scare her, but I don't blame her! she does have more miles on the trails then she does in the ring. Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: MAKE AN OFFER! HAPPY NEW YEAR SPECIAL: Lets Start 2012 Off Right With a Bunch of Adoptions!! For a Limited Time We are Reducing Chloee's Adoption Fee …

Lessons from the Hoof, Trim Clips 4

This video shows a real good example of fresh overgrown bars, so that you can see how they can grow up and lay over the sole. It also shows an example of what looks to be a good big healthy frog, BUT was found to have a whole layer of white fungus growing underneith. There is also a little on exfoliation and trimming bars and rasping.
